Gregg
Reese: Beginning in May or June (yes, 2010), I hope to
have some “coming-out” seminars regarding WinGAP-SQL. These
seminars will cover the basic operation of WinGAP under SQL with screen
shots and discussions about the differences you will encounter between
the current WinGAP and WinGAP-SQL. There will be demonstrations on
report building using SQL’s Reporting Services and the replacements for
Fox, either SQL Master or SSMS (SQL Server Management Studio). In
addition, I hope to have some representatives from the counties that
have been assisting in the testing of WinGAP-SQL and the SQL data to
provide information regarding what they have discovered or how they are
using the SQL data in some of their current operations.
My plans
are to have the seminars in various locations around the state.
Following are some preliminary sites: Savannah,
Augusta, Unicoi, Dalton, Callaway Gardens, Moultrie, Macon, Atlanta
The seminars will be open to anyone that wishes to attend and should
run 4 to 6 hours. The cost of the seminars will be between $50 to
$100 depending on the availability of lunch. Hopefully, GCP hours
can be provided for attending. I would be interested in knowing how many
you would anticipate sending from your county and which site you would
prefer. Do not consider this as a registration process. I am
only trying to obtain an idea as to how many would be interested.
If you have some ideas as to a site that is not listed and would be
suitable for 50 to 75 people at a minimum cost, please let me know.
